As a life-long pet owner, I have experienced first-hand the joy that fills me up when my tail-wagging dog greets me at the door, and when my cat naps in my lap, purring soothingly, on the very day that I am feeling ill. I have enjoyed special moments with my pets that reinforce again and again the unbreakable strength of the bond we share. And for 13 years I was fortunate to have one of those "once-in-a-lifetime" pets, my beloved yellow Lab, Murphy. He is part of my soul and will be always.
